Question: Baby slings? what one do you suggest? (Posted by: Starsfan14 on 2009-09-19 13:30:27) I have a 5 1/2 month old and I am looking to get a baby sling, but I have no idea which one to choose. So I have a couple of questions for those that have one. Which one do you have? Do you like it and why? If you don't then why? Is it true to size? And add anything else that you think would be helpful. Thanks so much. the major point that I am concerned with is the size. I am rather kind of petite 5'4 and 110 pounds so some things just don't fit me right. |

Posted by: Katie V on 2009-09-19, 13:48:47 Before my daughter was born, we purchased two slings: the Baba sling, and a sling made by mothercare. Perhaps my baby was unusual, but she always hated both of them. The baba sling never was quite right, despite it being adjustable, and always seemed like it either swallowed her up or didn't hold her securely enough. The second sling we got (from mothercare) had a 5-point harness in it which held her to the very bottom of the sling, allowing the upper railings (which weren't adjustable) to close over her. We tried the slings at various times in her growth, but it just didn't work, and she always wriggled and fought against them. She really seemed much happier either in her pram or being held. I think the last time we tried them was when she was 7 months old (she's 14 months now), and they've been gathering dust ever since. |

Posted by: Ana on 2009-09-19, 14:05:19 I got a baby bjorn which put her to sleep and she seemed to like it, but I wanted something I didn't have to strap her into and one I could cradle her in so I got a Maya wrap. I like it bc it is easy to use once you practice a little. I can carry her in a few different positions and put her in and take her out in no time. |
