Baby Slings? Do U Recommend One? Your Thoughts? Yes.. No?
Hi i 'm currently 34w6d pregnant and when my son is born i want to get a baby sling. i 'm not allowed to drive a car, so i have to public-transport it everywhere and i thought a sling would be much more convenient than a pram. if you have one, do you recommend it? can they get heavy on the shoulders at all?if you don 't have one, or are against it, please help me as to understand why. or if you 'd like to share anything like opinions or thoughts, please feel free too. thanks (Read answers)

Does Anyone Know What The Circumstances Of The "deaths "caused" By Infantino Baby Slings Were?
I am not trying to be insensitive here, i am just curious. of course any injury or death to any person, especially a child is extremely tragic and lamented. however i am getting pretty tired of seeing companies get screwed by incidents that were completely preventable if the parents exercised a little common sense (yes, i do realize common sense isn 't so common these days). now, like i said, i don 't know the circumstances of these particular sling incidents so i 'm not accusing the sling-wearer for the tragedies. however, i have a hard time imagining that a child could suffocate in any sling that was used properly and in accordance with the lengthy product manuals that are now standard on all of these products. so my question is 2-fold;1. does anyone know the circumstances of these 3 sling death incidents?2. are you getting a little annoyed (as i am) by the growing onslaught of legal action being taken against manufacturers of baby products for incidents and tragedies which could have been completely prevented had the care giver exercised a little more common sense and attention to detail? (i.e. not putting a child in a bumbo seat on top of a table, not utilizing a plastic lined blanket as a crib comforter, etc.) te scary thing is that every time you read a really ridiculous warning on a product you purchase for your child, it 's there because some moron did it in the first place! scary!on a personal note, about a year ago i was considering manufacturing some home-made slings i learned how to make and selling them at a local craft fair. however, once i came to my senses and realized the legal mess i was potentially setting myself up for if some ignorant person purchased my sling, used it incorrectly (even though i would include detailed, easy to follow instructions) and harmed their child, i quickly changed my mind!i love my slings too! i used a maya wrap and a new native for the most part so i don 't have any experience with this infantino one.
